terms.
last updated 28 October 2026
the short version. strumble. is free to use for learning and teaching guitar. use music you have the right to use, check what the app gives you, because it can be wrong, and be thoughtful about what you share.
using strumble.
strumble. (strumble.app) is made by ink. interactive in Melbourne, Australia. by using it you agree to these terms. if you don't agree, please don't use it. you can use strumble. for your own practice, for lessons and for teaching.
your music.
- only capture, import or share music you're allowed to use. songs belong to their writers and publishers.
- tab and chords strumble. makes from a recording are for your own learning. please don't publish or sell them as your own.
- the songs you write in strumble. are yours.
sharing.
a share link, including each one made by copy all links., can be opened by anyone who has it, and it carries the song's chart and recording. only share what you're happy for others to hear and see, and only share songs you have the right to share. shared songs are removed after about ninety days, and we may remove any share sooner, for example if we're asked to by the person who owns the music.
it can get things wrong.
strumble. reads recordings, photos and files automatically, and like any machine reading music it will sometimes get notes, chords or timing wrong. that's why everything it makes can be edited. please check it against the song, and don't rely on it where accuracy really matters.
other services.
some features use another company's service: Google Drive for importing files you pick, Anthropic's Claude for "read it with AI." and for looking up a named song on the web, and your browser's speech recognition for the lyrics mic. using them means their terms apply too. see privacy for what each one receives.
the guitar sounds.
the acoustic and electric guitars are recordings from the FluidR3 GM SoundFont by Frank Wen, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 licence, as published by the midi-js-soundfonts project. trimmed, levelled and compressed for the app.
your songs and your account.
your songs and recordings live in your browser (see privacy). clearing your browser's data, or a browser removing it to free space, deletes them from that browser. keep anything important safe: back up. at the foot of the app saves them all to a file, and signing in (optional) keeps a copy on our server so your devices stay in step. one account is for one person; keep your email account secure, since the sign-in links go there. you can delete your account at any time, and we may close an account that breaks these terms. we look after what's kept, but strumble. is free and we can't promise it will never be lost, so a backup file of your own is still wise.
fair use.
please don't misuse strumble. or the server behind it: no attempts to break or overload it, to get at other people's shares, or to use it to store or spread anything unlawful or harmful.
changes and availability.
strumble. is new and keeps changing. features may be added, changed or removed, and it may sometimes be unavailable. we'll update these terms as it grows, with the date at the top showing the latest version.
our responsibility.
strumble. is provided free and as it is. nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. otherwise, to the extent the law allows, ink. interactive isn't liable for losses that come from using strumble., including lost songs or recordings.
law and contact.
these terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. questions go to [email protected].
